Recorded in December of 2006, Winter Rains was the first of my music recordings to get a genuine CD cover, rather than a paper sleeve. My Sweetheart had encouraged me to get a nice guitar, that she had found, and these recordings were an attempt to combat the loneliness of a lover far away--just another way of being together, while apart. Much of it was recorded during the rainy season of late-Fall / early-Winter, and its pensive mood reflects the inclement weather. I apologize that I am not much of a guitar player. But I like the sound of the instrument, and my intention in making these CD's has been to keep my mate company, while she is up in Canada, with her family, during the winter. So the music can be moody, at times, in this one. ..in all of them, really.
I tend to play my guitar when I am house-bound by the weather--and I can't help reflecting my broody, moodiness. Winter Rain is strictly instrumental music--so it makes for good background ambience, where conversation or thinking, would prefer not to compete with somebody's song--yet can't deal with silence.
